Editorial policy

Published 12 January 2026. This page is the contract between this desk and its readers.

Independence

Construction Pioneer is not funded by advertising, sponsored content, affiliate commissions or paid links. No company has ever paid for a mention, a ranking, a review or a link on this site, and none will. If that changes — for example if a clearly labelled sponsored section is ever introduced — the change will be announced on this page before it appears in the magazine.

Link policy

Outbound links exist to help a reader verify a claim, not to move somebody's rankings. In practice that means:

  • Links point to standards bodies, public research, government publications or the primary documentation of a test method.
  • No link is sold, traded or inserted as a condition of publication. Requests of that kind are declined without reply.
  • Commercial links are marked rel="nofollow" and used sparingly, usually where a reader needs a supplier's technical data sheet to act on the article.
  • We remove links when the destination stops supporting the claim it was cited for.

Sourcing and review

Technical statements are checked against the standard or test method that governs them — designation, edition and clause where the point is contested. Where a figure comes from a project rather than a document, the article says so and describes the constraint that produced it. Articles that carry structural or life-safety claims are reviewed by a second chartered or professional engineer before publication; the review is disclosed on the page.

Authorship

Every article carries a named author and a stated role. Ghost-written supplier copy is not published under an editorial byline. Where an article draws substantially on a manufacturer's test data, that dependency is stated in the text.

Corrections

Errors are corrected in place and logged. Substantive corrections — a wrong figure, a misattributed standard, an inverted conclusion — are noted at the foot of the article with the date, and the original wording is retained in the log rather than silently deleted. Send corrections to the desk with the URL and the sentence in question; we answer every one.

Automation

This desk uses software for publishing mechanics — build, typesetting, sitemap, feed — and nothing else. Articles are researched, written and reviewed by people. Text is not generated to fill a publishing schedule, and no article is published without a human editor's final read.

Photography

Photographs are sourced from Pixabay under the Pixabay Content License, which permits commercial use without mandatory attribution. Each image is downloaded to this server, resized at build time and served from this domain — never hotlinked. The photographer, the source page and the article it illustrates are listed on the photo creditspage, and credits appear under the image itself. Stock photography is used to illustrate a subject, never to imply that a specific product, supplier or project is being shown.

Archive integrity

Published URLs are permanent. Articles are not deleted to tidy a category, and retired material is either kept with a note or redirected to its successor. If a page returns 404, it never existed.
